FAQ

  • A 20% admin fee is included on all orders in lieu of a tip. Labor laws in Massachusetts prohibit the sharing of tips with those in positions outside of general table service. Because all staff at NNB is integral to the dining experience, we proudly provide modern, livable wages for all employees through this labor model. While tipping above and beyond the 20% is certainly appreciated, it is unnecessary.

  • Open for dinner Thurs - Sun 5PM - 10PM

  • Nightshade Noodle Bar offers several tasting menu options. All of them are blind, however, the guest may choose two dishes from the menu of options that are available that night and offer other dining preferences for the team to work with. Chef & Owner, Rachel Miller, will then coordinate a menu around the criteria, hand-writing tasting menus to order on a grid designed to navigate service with several customized menus at different times. Every menu is tailored to every guest and occasion, and the service staff expertly and nimbly pairs beverages for each different menu as it’s happening. The menu includes over 30 dishes showcasing ingredients sourced from all over the world, including local foods, with an expansive and diverse beverage selection to match.

The dining room at Nightshade Noodle Bar is unconventional for a restaurant in its echelon. It’s loud and uncensored, small, dark, full of plants, mostly bar seating and high-tops with no tablecloths, but it uniquely checks the boxes of a modern high-end dining experience. Much of the restaurant was built by the chef-owner herself, who is on the line cooking while coordinating experiences every night. The restaurant is intimate and personal, but not pretentious or stuffy. Service and Beverage Director, Alexandra Caruso, leads an incredibly knowledgeable and professional service team, whose main focus is to build great relationships with guests, customize every dining experience, and create truly memorable evenings.

  • Nightshade is happy to accommodate allergies to the extent that we are able. However, we are a small and very specialized spot, and our menu isn’t for everyone. See below for specific restriction information. We cannot accommodate vegans, vegetarians, or folks who have an allergy to anchovy-based fish sauce. Please notify us of any restrictions or allergies ahead of time so we can best prepare for you.

  • Short answer, yes. The severity of the allergy will determine the number of courses we can offer. Please notify us ahead of time if you require a gluten free menu.

  • Unfortunately, no. Fish sauce is a prevalent ingredient in the Nightshade menu, and the tasting is designed to showcase our local and global seafood. However, we are happy to put together a 7 course tasting menu with minimal seafood if that is your preference. Please note that the majority if our seafood is shellfish- accommodating a fin fish free tasting menu is doable as long as anchovy based fish sauce is ok.

  • Absolutely. Check with us to see how many courses are available tonight, and please let us know if trace amounts of alcohol in the food, pasteurized caviar and egg yolks are ok or if you’d like to avoid those too!

  • Unfortunately, Nightshade Noodle Bar is not a child friendly restaurant. We’re a small space with loud music, no space for high chairs and an overstimulating place to bring a small child or baby. If you have an older child who’s an adventurous eater, who can sit quietly and enjoy eating Portuguese barnacles, caviar and duck tongues, then sure, but please let us know ahead of time. We are an experience that people wait months for, we want to respect the space and allow our guests to enjoy their meal without the sound of a crying baby/child.

  • Yes! We will offer a 5-course menu for $75 every night we’re open, from 5pm-6pm. It’s a great way to find out what we are all about. Please book in advance- we fill up fast!
