Nightshade Noodle Bar offers several blind tasting menu options, each tailored to the individual table. While the full menu remains a surprise, guests may choose two dishes from that evening’s offerings to be included. Chef and Owner Rachel Miller then creates a personalized menu, written to order, shared by the group.
The menus are inspired by Vietnamese and French cuisines, with a strong focus on local and global seafood. Over 30 dishes are in rotation, featuring ingredients sourced from around the world. The experience is dynamic and fluid. Our service team, led by Service and Beverage Director Alexandra Caruso, pairs beverages in real time to match each guest’s unique menu. (Pairings are not included in the price of the meal, and an a la carte drink menu is also provided)
The dining room at Nightshade Noodle Bar is intimate, lively, and untraditional for fine dining. It’s small and dark, filled with plants, with bar seating and high-tops. There are no tablecloths, and no pretense. Much of the space was built by Chef Rachel herself, who is on the line each night cooking and guiding the guest experience. The result is a personal and immersive atmosphere. Our team focuses on building genuine relationships, customizing every detail, and creating unforgettable evenings.

A 20% admin fee is included on all orders in lieu of a tip. Labor laws in Massachusetts prohibit the sharing of tips with those in positions outside of general table service. Because all staff at NNB is integral to the dining experience, we proudly provide modern, livable wages for all employees through this labor model. While tipping above and beyond the 20% is certainly appreciated, it is unnecessary.

We don’t offer separate tasting menus for guests at the same table, as our menus are designed to be a shared experience. That said, we understand that appetites can vary. If one of you would like to try more dishes, we offer individual supplements that can be added to the shared menu.
Each of our tasting menus offer a full, satisfying meal with similar total portion sizes. As the course count increases, portions become smaller and variety increases. The 21- and 30-course menus are longer format experiences, with more food (but smaller portions), served over a longer period of time. There are no bad options! Most guests leave feeling full but not overwhelmed.

Nightshade Noodle Bar is happy to accommodate allergies to the extent that we are able. However, we are a small and very specialized spot, and our menu isn’t for everyone. See below for specific restriction information. We cannot accommodate vegans, vegetarians, or folks who have an allergy to anchovy-based fish sauce. Please notify us of any restrictions or allergies ahead of time so we can best prepare for you.
-
Unfortunately, no. Fish sauce is a prevalent ingredient in the Nightshade menu, and the tasting is designed to showcase our local and global seafood. However, we are happy to put together a 7 course tasting menu with minimal seafood if that is your preference. Please note that the majority if our seafood is shellfish- accommodating a fin fish free tasting menu is doable as long as anchovy based fish sauce is ok.
-
Absolutely. Check with us to see how many courses are available tonight, and please let us know if trace amounts of alcohol in the food, salt-cured caviar and egg yolks are ok or if you’d like to avoid those too!
-
We love kids, but Nightshade Noodle Bar isn’t set up to be child-friendly. Our space is small, with loud music and no room for high chairs, which can make it overwhelming for babies and young children.
If you have an older child who’s an adventurous eater and can sit quietly to enjoy dishes like Portuguese barnacles, caviar, and duck tongues, we’d be happy to welcome them. Please let us know ahead of time so we can prepare.
We want to create a comfortable environment where all our guests can fully enjoy their meal without disruptions, so we appreciate your understanding.
